A
large percentage of vacation homes in the United States are rented
by their owners for at least a few week or weekends of each year.
Renting a vacation home is generally a good deal for a vacation
home owner. The rental income will often times be enough to at least
cover property taxes for the property, and depending how often the
property is rented, may even come close to paying most of the expenses
related to owning a vacation home.
Likewise, renting a vacation home is generally a good deal for the
renter of a vacation home. Renters will have the opportunity to
enjoy a beautiful home located in a resort location, at a price
that is often times comparable to that charged by hotels. Perhaps
most importantly, renting a vacation home will give the renter a
chance to “test drive” a vacation destination before
they ultimately decide whether they would like to purchase a vacation
home in that particular area.
